All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name No. 97
Let Us Confess Our Sins
ALMIGHTY God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, and Judge of all people, We acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness; leaving undone what we should have done, and doing what we should not have done. Even so, help us to remember the cross. In Your kindness, lead us to repentance, and grant us to see our sins with horror as we remember Christ’s suffering in our place at Calvary. Have mercy upon us, Father, for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. And grant us Your Holy Spirit as we come to this Table, that our hearts may be refreshed with grace to live faithfully, obediently, for Your glory. Amen.
Scripture Reading Isaiah Fifty-Three
*Let Us Sing There Is Power in the Blood No. 191
The Prayer of Intercession Pastor Wes Alford
The Preaching of God’s Word “Keeping Your Heart” Proverbs 4:23
*The Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
*The Supper of the Lord 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
The Invitation
Come to this table:
you who have much faith,
and you who would like to have more;
you who have been to this sacrament often,
and you who have not been for a long time.
Come, you who are doubting, struggling, tired and weary;
Jesus will nourish your soul and help you!
Come! It is Christ who invites us to meet him here.
So Let Us Lift Up Our Hearts to Christ
As the Lord Jesus, the same night in which He was betrayed, took bread, I take these elements of bread and the fruit of the vine, to be set apart from all common uses to this holy use and mystery; and as He gave thanks and blessed, let us draw near to God, lifting up our hearts, presenting to Him our prayers and thanksgivings.
Pastor: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Pastor: Lift up your hears.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is good and right to give Him thanks and praise.
Pastor: Let us pray . . .
Please come forward to receive the bread and the cup.
Let Us Pray Together
*Let’s Sing Joyfully Lift High the Cross No. 304
